Tamrac Adventure Backpack Review

November 14 2008 by emachine

The Tamrac Adventure gear carrier is a lightweight, uniquely-designed backpack that combines a functional camera bag, comfortable daypack, and computer backpack in one easy-to-carry pack. It holds camera equipment, personal items, and laptops with up to 17" screens and, for security, does not look like a camera bag.

The main compartment is foam-padded to protect a pro D-SLR with a grip and most 70-200mm f/2.8 lenses attached, numerous additional lenses, a flash, and accessories. The completely adjustable foam-padded dividers provide a custom fit to equipment. A separate, completely foam-padded rear compartment provides quick access to 17” laptops, without disturbing photo gear. An extra large top compartment is ideal for lunch, a light jacket, or other personal items. Mesh pockets on the sides of the pack provide fast access to accessories and water bottles. In addition, there’s a foam-padded backpack harness and waist belt for carrying comfort.

I don't use this bag in-the-field really, I prefer to travel lighter. I purchased this bag for flying, and it is a dream for traveling with. I would never send my camera through with my checked baggage but with all the new restrictions on baggage, I was having problems coming up with a way to have a carry on, my laptop AND camera all with me at all times and be able to travel comfortably. This backpack was the perfect solution!

The Adventure 6, Adventure 7, Adventure 9 and Adventure 10 backpacks tend to be the most popular in the series.
